How we work

Our Doctors and Nurses work in Clinical Teams to provide continuity of care to patients. They are supported by Care Coordinators who provide administrative support to the teams and, are a point of contact and support for patients as well as ensuring proactive care by scheduling in activity and patient contact for the clinical teams.

All our doctors take part in our Same Day Team rota. Each day we have a GP on call from 8.00am -18.00pm and they are there to filter requests for same day appointments, provide telephone advice, provide face-to-face appointments for those who need to be seen, oversee home visit requests and deal with any patients who need an appointment soon, yet are having difficulty accessing this through our system. Sometimes they can be very busy but please be assured that they will get back to you and will not go home until they have safely managed your care.

The staff at The Lakeside Practice work hard to ensure only the best quality care is provided to all our patients. You can find out more about the different members of our team below.

Our receptionists are usually the first point of contact and are here to help you. They have a lot of information to hand and in most cases will be able to help with your enquiry, ensuring you see the most appropriate clinician. Nonetheless, it is your right to request to talk only to the doctor. Anything that is discussed with the receptionists or any other member of the team is treated in strict confidence. We can offer a more confidential service for more delicate and sensitive issues. Please ask a member of the Receptiion Team to arrange if this is what you need. Please respect the privacy of other patients by standing well back from the reception desk until your turn.
